Snowdon Trek: Postponed

Our official statement:

Thank you so much for your patience in regards to the Pilgrim Snowdon Trek.

Assalamu’AlayKum, thank you so much for your patience in regards to the Pilgrim Snowdon Trek. We have decided to cancel tomorrows gathering at the Hub.

In light of this, the Snowdon trek has been postponed to the 4th of July 2020 (Saturday). You have all done amazingly on your fundraising and In Sha Allah we will keep in touch with you throughout the next couple of weeks as we go into Ramadan.

At Pilgrim, our success is due to your incredible support and trust We pray that you and your families continue to be safe during this global pandemic. We pray too that during this difficult time we can count on your assistance and support so we can continue the work of helping those that we try to serve.

Our teams will support you to try and reach your targets in Ramadan, and then follow up as we get closer to the trek.

Allah, The Mighty and Majestic says in His Book:

“And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss” (Al-Isra: 82) – (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim)

With love and safety,

Mohammed Nur

Questions and Answers

What will happen to the funds?

Funds will still go towards the Umrah Fund, to date, £13,246 has been raised by 61 individual fundraisers. Our group target is £17,000 and we are more than 75% of the way there. Alhamdulillah.

Will I still be able to trek Snowdon?

Absolutely! It is our utmost attention to trek Snowdon with you, right now, your health and the safety of our valued volunteers is paramount. We have postponed the trek until Saturday 4th July 2020. We are hoping that by then, our country and neighbours will be in a better position and we will be able to continue our journey.

I haven’t raised my target yet, what will happen to my page?

Your page will be open all the way through to the 5th July 2020. This means that you will be able to reach your target in Ramadan. In fact, at this time, we need your help more than over. The best time for us to raise the funds we need is this Ramadan.

How will communication continue?

Most of us have now been connected to a WhatsApp group, these groups will remain open throughout until the day of the trek. Should you have any concerns, queries or questions, please feel free to reach out to our fundraising managers, Nur or Hafiza.
